WHAT IS IT?
Sodium benzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid. Its water solubility makes it suitable for preserving shampoos, cleansers and other water-based products.
ORIGIN
Nature-identical. Benzoic acid occurs naturally in plants and berries, although cosmetic sodium benzoate is generally manufactured to reproduce the same chemical structure.

Helps inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast and mould; protects the formula from spoilage; and supports product freshness and shelf life.
